Comfort Zone

Today is Thursday, New Years Eve.  I have been contemplating this weeks Church Service since Sunday.  The sermon talked about what God wants to create new in you this year.

2016 is will renew my marriage.  My husband has been Mayor of our small town (about 8,000 people) for the past 4 years.  Not only does he work tirelessly at his full time job, but being Mayor meant evening meetings and phone calls.  5pm only meant he was done with his first job and from there he would take phone calls or work until about 8pm on city business.  At midnight, Jan 1, I get my husband back and the girls get their Dad home.

2016 will be emotional.  My oldest daughter is a Senior in High school this year. She will be attending a college only 30 minutes away, but will be living on Campus.  I know she needs to spread her wings, but.........
My youngest daughter is a Freshman, so I have been celebrating firsts and lasts this year.  H's First school dance and O's last.  H's first parade in the marching band and O's last.

2016 will test me.  I am a homebody.  I could stay at home for days or not talk to the outside world and be just happy. If the phone rings, I don't jump up to get it.  I rarely take chances and enjoy my schedule.  This new year will bend and stretch me into new situations.  My goal is to get out of my comfort zone.  I will go to new places, write more, read more, try new foods, act a little silly, join new groups and learn to take care of me.

Here is to a new year and trusting that God will carry me through.  What does God want to create new in you this year?
